Aya marathon is a popular event and held in October.
Aya Town boasts first class soccer(football), baseball, track and field and tennis facilities. In preparation for the 2002 World Cup, Germany and Swedan spent a weekend practicing and playing an exhibition game in Aya. Osaka Gamba of the Japan League are also regular visitors to Aya.
Opening in August 2004 is the all new Aya-Teruha-Dome. The Teruha Dome will be able to accomadate soccer and baseball practices indoors. Change the turf to hard court and it is ready for anything from basketball to volleyball.
We are blessed with fine weather all year long, and in the winter there is no snowfall. Through the four seasons athletes and sports teams from all over Japan and the world come to Aya to train and practice. Aya is known throughout Japan as a haven for sports. Aya town people support the various sports camps bringing so many top-class athletes to town.

Aya Equestrian
Park has always been famous for raising wonderful race horses. In 1985
it used this quality and opened the Aya Equestrian Academy, the first
riding club in Miyazaki prefecture. We are able to accomodate not only
the advanced, who want to deepen the symbiotic relationship between horse
and rider, but the beginners who simply want to enjoy getting to know
horses better.
Located at the Equestrian Academy is one of the world's largest flower clocks. In the spring and early summer it is awash with beautiful bloomingflowers. It usually keeps the right time, too!
